Carson Short

Carson Short, 66, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Salem Crossing. He was born on December 19, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Blaine Short and Marie (Neace) Short. Carson graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1969 and then served his country during the Vietnam War as a HH3 E-4 in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a maintenance man at many different companies over the years and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Salem, Indiana. Carson enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and teaching the Bible to others. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Phillip and Blaine Short, Jr. . Survivors include his wife of 32 years, April L. (Samples) Short; two daughters, Christie Walker and husband Troy of Newton, Georgia and Margie Marie Reardon of Sylvestor, Georgia; twin sister, Carolyn Harris and husband Joe of Henryville, Indiana, three other sisters, Nancy Arbuckle and husband Travis of Clarksville, Indiana, Joyce N. Higdon and husband Norman of New Albany, Indiana, Wanda F. Jones and husband Jerry of Mishawka, Indiana; three brothers, Bobby G. Short and wife Rosie of Salem, Indiana, Paul E. Short of New Albany, Indiana and Billy R. Short and wife Sheila of Jeffersonville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Patty Short of Corydon, Indiana and four grandchildren, Summer, Tristan and Aiden Walker and Emily Reardon.

Memorial Service: 3:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Salem, Indiana with Bro. Dwight Cook officiating. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
