Harvey E. Asher

Harvey E. Asher, 64, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on July 6, 1954 in Clay County, Kentucky, the son of Paul Asher and Imogene (Couch) Hughes. Harvey graduated from Austin High School in 1972. He worked as a laborer for Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana and also had worked construction for several area contractors. Harvey enjoyed riding his motorcycles and was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include two stepsons, John Hall of Lafayette, Indiana and Daniel Abner of New Castle, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Linda Holland of Columbus, Indiana and Tammy Jo Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Imogene and Robert Hughes of Lexington, Indiana; a sister, Tracy Miskell (Rick Porter) of Underwood, Indiana; four brothers, Paul Asher (Peggy) of Kokomo, Indiana, John Asher (Carla) and Phillip Asher (Rosie) all of Greensburg, Indiana and Robert Hughes, II (JoAnna) Hughes of Lexington, Indiana and several grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home with Jeff Porter officiating. Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Cremation will follow Harvey's services with private burial at a later date in Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana.

Harvey was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. I spent many days and nights with his sister Tracy and felt like Harv was my brother too !!
