Lena M. Bailey

Lena M. Bailey, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on March 2, 1927 in Partridge, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Carl O. and Lillie (Lewis) Spencer. Lena was a homemaker and had many life accomplishments. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana ,where she was as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent for many years. Lena was a member and had served two terms as President of the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild and was nominated for the Scottsburg Good Neighbor award. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Bailey on June 29, 1987; four brothers, Arvis O., Orbin, David and Ronald Spencer and three sisters, Anita Cook, Freida Amos and Cindy McMullen. Survivors include two sons, Richard Bailey and wife Deanna of Indianapolis, Indiana and John Bailey and wife Rita of Blocher, Indiana; four daughters, Barbara Robbins of Austin, Indiana, Shirley Ball of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Wilma Richey and husband Marvin of Lexington, Indiana and Joy Spencer and husband Mark of Sellersburg, Indiana; three sisters, Betty McClain of Crestwood, Kentucky, Joyce Kleopher and husband Louie of Hanover, Indiana and Gladys Henson of Madison, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday, March 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Sills officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home and after 10 am Thursday at First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
