Thelma Cathcart

Thelma Cathcart, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on December 16, 1929 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Hensley) Brummett. Thelma loved being a homemaker, enjoyed square dancing, spending time with her family and could often be seen attending important events for her grandchildren. She was a member of Little York United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Little York Eastern Star. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Cathcart on Aug. 30, 1984; two daughters, Rita June and Yvonne Jean Cathcart, three sisters, Ruby, Audrey, Pearl and Nola; five brothers; Boyd, Lewis, Harrison, Roy and William “June” Brummett. Survivors include her companion, Bethel Killman of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Rick L. Cathcart (Kathy) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; two daughters, Debra J. Bess (Steve Phillips) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Lori J. Smith (Melvin) of Little York, Indiana; two brothers, Lloyd Brummett (Eloise) of Paris Crossing, Indiana and Hubert Brummett of Crothersville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Sean Hall (Hope), Melissa and Lucy Cathcart, Casey and Noah Smith and one great granddaughter, Lola Hall. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home with Marc Carr officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm on Thursday and after 11 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be at Little York Cemetery in Little York, Indiana.

Sorry to hear of Aunt Thelma passing. she was a wonderful Lady, wonderful Mother, and someone you could talk to and laugh with, she will be missed by all. Our Blessings are with tne Family.
